ENVIRONMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS
|
|
Freedom Environmental Services is available to assist you in performing
site-wide environmental assessments necessary to
meet State and Federal guidelines. Environmental
assessments are also an essential tool in real
estate transfers, site development, refinancing, and
even foreclosures. Due to the threat of litigation
over damage to property, natural resources, and
human health (and the high cost of remedial action
with regard to contaminated land), environmental
assessments are often required by corporations and
lending institutions before any financial commitment
is made.
|
 |
Phase I Environmental Assessments
are non-intrusive investigations designed to evaluate
the historical use of your site, focusing on identifying
any possible environmental impact. This includes a site
visit to identify environmental concerns or risks
including hazardous waste storage, spills, petroleum
storage, suspected PCB’s or asbestos containing
material. A review of available, State and Federal
databases is made, including available regulatory
information on the site and any adjacent properties, as
well as a look at the site’s prior ownership.
Phase II Environmental Assessments provide for
active sampling to assess and characterize actual
conditions. This may include soil sampling and boring,
laboratory analyses, Organic Volatile Aromatic vapor
screening, hazardous substance and sludge analyses, and
the installation of temporary or permanent monitoring
systems. At Freedom Environmental Services, our goal is
to proceed with maximum efficiency according to
predefined objectives so that field and laboratory costs
can be minimized.
